Music Monday - April 25, 2016

Welcome to the second weekly installment of Music Monday, Hipsters! This past week was a free-for-all of music where I didn't focus on a particular genre or need certain songs to complement my feels. I just listened to whatever suited my fancy at the time. However, there were a few that I returned to multiple times, and those are the ten Music Monday selections for this week. Check them out below!
  1. Serpents - Sharon Van Etten
  2. Brazil - Declan McKenna
  3. Ready to Start - Arcade Fire | Arcade Fire is headlining day one of the Panorama Festival in New York on July 22, and I'm torn between making the extraordinarily long trip to see them or waiting for their next album tour and hoping they'll play closer to me. The struggle is real.
  4. Tear You Apart - She Wants Revenge
  5. The River - Son Little | When I saw Mumford and Sons live last year, Son Little was the opening act, and he puts on a really chill show.
  6. Dearly Departed - Shakey Graves ft. Esme Patterson
  7. Turn it Around - Lucius | Lucius is playing in my neck of the woods this summer, and I already have tickets to go see them with my friend Kasey (yay).
  8. Sex Karma - Of Montreal ft. Solange Knowles
  9. Counting Cards - Rainbow Kitten Surprise
  10. Fitzpleasure - alt-J | I know alt-J made last week's list, too, but I've had the chance to listen to more of their stuff, and I love it.
As I ponder the costs and benefits to seeing Arcade Fire at Panorama, anticipate the Lucius concert, and listen to more alt-J, don't be surprised if they continue to make the Music Monday list for the next few weeks. And, as always, I would love to hear what music recommendations you have to offer!
